What pants size am I?
To find our what pants size you are, this depends on a few key measurements: your waist, hip, and inseam. Use a soft measuring tape to find your natural waist (the narrowest part of your torso), the fullest part of your hips, and the length from your inner thigh to just below the ankle for your inseam.
While our sizing is consistent across the board, different styles may fit differently based on fabric and design. For example, a high-rise stretch pant will fit differently than a mid-rise trouser. Some silhouettes are meant to be fitted, while others are intentionally relaxed or wide-leg.
To find your best fit, refer to the size guide above and consider how you’d like the pants to feel and look.

How do you measure your waist size for pants?
To measure your waist size for pants, use a soft measuring tape and wrap it around the smallest part of your waist. This is typically just above your belly button and below your ribcage. The tape should sit flat against your skin and feel snug but not tight. Keep it level all the way around for the most accurate measurement.
Your waist measurement is essential for finding the right fit, especially for high-rise or structured styles. Keep in mind that different pant cuts and fabrics may affect how a size feels, even if the waist measurement is the same.

Where pants should sit?
Where your pants sit depends on the style and rise of the design. High-rise pants are meant to sit at or just above your natural waist, which is the narrowest part of your torso. Mid-rise pants usually sit just below the natural waist, while low-rise styles rest closer to your hips.
The key is comfort and proportion. Your pants should sit securely without digging in or slipping down, and the waistband should lie flat against your body. A proper fit at the waist also helps ensure a flattering look through the hips and legs.
What shorts size am I?
To find your ideal shorts size, start by measuring your waist and hips using a soft measuring tape. Your waist measurement should be taken at the narrowest part of your torso, and your hip measurement at the fullest part of your hips.
Once you have your measurements, use the size chart above to match your numbers to our US sizes. For example, if your waist measures 27 inches and your hips are around 37 inches, you’re likely a size 4 or 27 in our shorts.
Keep in mind that different styles and fabrics may fit slightly differently. A structured short will feel more fitted than one with stretch or a relaxed cut, even in the same size.

Where should shorts sit on the waist?
Where your shorts sit on the waist depends on the rise and style of the design. High-rise shorts are intended to sit at your natural waist, which is the narrowest part of your torso. Mid-rise styles usually sit just below the natural waist, and low-rise shorts rest closer to the hips.
The waistband should feel secure but comfortable, without digging in or slipping down. A good fit at the waist helps the shorts lay smoothly through the hips and ensures ease of movement.
If you're unsure which rise or fit works best for you, feel free to email us at customerservice@veronicabeard.com with the style name and your usual size. We're happy to help you find the perfect pair.
How do you measure for skirt size?
To measure for your skirt size, you'll want to focus on two key areas: your waist and your hips. Use a soft measuring tape and measure your waist at the smallest part of your torso. Then measure your hips at the fullest part, usually about 8 inches below your waist.
Once you have those measurements, refer to the size chart above to find the best fit. For example, if your waist is 28 inches and your hips are 38 inches, you’ll likely fall into a size 6 or 28.
Keep in mind that different fabrics and silhouettes may fit differently. A fitted midi skirt will feel snugger than an A-line or stretch style in the same size.
Are skirt sizes the same as pant sizes?
Skirt sizes often align closely with pant sizes, especially when both are based on waist measurements. However, they can fit differently depending on the style and cut. For example, a high-waisted skirt may sit higher on the body than most pants, and a fitted midi skirt may feel snugger through the hips compared to a wide-leg trouser in the same size.
To find your best fit, we recommend measuring both your waist and hip and checking the size chart above for reference. If you're in between sizes or comparing different styles, fabric and structure can also influence the fit.
