A home is more than just a roof over your head—it’s a foundation for a stronger, healthier, and more financially secure future. Families with stable housing are able to save more money, make forward-thinking financial decisions, and provide their children with a better environment to thrive. Yet, for too many, homeownership remains out of reach, whether due to financial strain or unexpected disasters like wildfires and hurricanes. 

In the wake of events like the devastating Los Angeles wildfires of 2025, the need for safe and affordable housing has never been more urgent. That’s why this quarter, we’re proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families build and improve places to call home. 

With a mission to help others build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter, Habitat for Humanity works with communities around the world to make homeownership more accessible. Whether rebuilding after disasters or supporting those facing financial hardship, they construct, rehabilitate, and preserve homes while advocating for fair and affordable housing policies. 

But they don’t simply give houses away—Habitat homeowners pay an affordable mortgage or loan and contribute “sweat equity,” working alongside volunteers to build their own homes. Through financial education and homeownership support, Habitat ensures they can sustain long-term stability and a self-reliant future. They also invest in communities through initiatives that advance Black homeownership, support veterans, revitalize neighborhoods, advocate for housing equality, and so much more. 

For billions, safe and affordable housing remains out of reach. 

- More than 18 million U.S. families are considered severely cost-burdened, spending over 50% of their income on housing. 

- Globally, 1 in 4 families are in need of decent, affordable housing. 

- Many families must make dramatic sacrifices, cutting back on essentials like food, health care, and transportation just to keep a roof over their heads. 

Habitat for Humanity is working to change that. 

- Since 1976, they have helped more than 62 million people build or improve their homes—more than 3 million in 2024 alone across the U.S. and in 70+ countries. 

- Last year, more than 900,000 volunteers came together to build homes, advocate for housing access, and raise awareness about the global need for shelter. 

By donating to Habitat for Humanity, you’re directly helping them build safe housing for families, provide emergency shelter, support rebuilding efforts after disasters, and create a world where everyone has a decent and affordable place to call home.
